Ryan Schick has built a diverse career centered around supporting small businesses and startups in Columbus, Ohio. With a background in media, including roles at Time Magazine, The Washington Post, Sports Illustrated, Condé Nast Portfolio, and Gourmet Magazine, Ryan’s experience spans a variety of industries and roles.
In 2014, he became the Columbus Small Business Concierge, a unique role where he connected businesses with necessary resources, helped resolve conflicts, and assisted in navigating the complexities of entrepreneurship. In 2019, his efforts were recognized by Columbus Business First’s 40 Under 40 list.
As founder of Activate Law, Ryan continues to support small businesses and startups. His approach emphasizes the importance of community involvement. He believes that the best clients are those who value their community and their Google Reviews just as much, if not more, than who might be listed on their capital table.
But his work extends beyond the office. Ryan has raised over $41,000 for Pelotonia, serves as General Counsel to the emerging Ohio Chamber of Commerce for Veterans, and has been a board member at the Central Community House. He also participates in the Bexley Zoning and Planning Committee.
Outside of work, Ryan enjoys his family life with his wife, Laura, and their eleven-year-old son, Henry, in Bexley, Ohio. His journey demonstrates his belief in the importance of hard work, community involvement, and assisting others.
